I'm back with another recipe to share with you. I don't believe this recipe is specific to Alabama but I have been shocked by the number of southerner's that have never tried it. So, it's time I let the world in on the secret.
Biscuits and gravy. A classic breakfast dish. Some people eat plain gravy on their biscuits. Some eat sausage gravy. But did you know that your life could be totally different? Some of us out there have been enjoying chocolate gravy on our breakfast biscuits. Yes. You heard me right. Chocolate gravy.
My Mema made the absolute best chocolate dishes. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was very young so I don't have a ton of memories with her. But a kid doesn't easily forget when they get to eat chocolate for breakfast. My mom carried on her mother's chocolate gravy recipe. So, I am now privileged to treat my family to it as well. And since Google and the inter-web powers that be think I need a blog to keep my website relevant, you too will benefit from this tasty recipe!
If you're ready for a warm and cozy breakfast that your whole family will enjoy then get out your pen and paper!

1/4 c Unsweet Cocoa Powder
3//4 c Sugar
2 Tbs All-Purpose Flour

2 Packages of Crescent Rolls or Biscuits
Directions:
In a 2 quart saucepan, stir sugar, flour, cocoa & salt. Place pot over medium heat.
Gradually add milk. Whisk constantly until well blended.
Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens (~ 5-6 minutes)

Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
