How to Build The Perfect Stack

In my 30 years of life I have learned that it is fairly simple to stay on trend. Just look around you at what all the popular stores are selling. Most likely they will be stocked full of a certain sleeve style or color of the season. That’s a pretty good clue that a style is what’s “hot”. So it isn’t difficult to be fashionable even if you have little knowledge. But I’ve also found that the ladies with the most put together looks spend a good deal of time perusing Pinterest for inspiration and tips. I do this myself from time to time. But as life evolves and I have more on my plate, I find that I either don’t have the time to peruse Pinterest or it isn’t my best use of time in the moment. Or maybe you have the time to save these inspirational pictures but want to copy using items you already have. If I’m like this then there must be more of you in the same situation, right?

I don’t think that accessorizing is an art form. If you don’t read any further in this post then you’ll most likely look just as cute on the regular. But I did want to provide a few quick tips on building the perfect stack of bracelets for ladies who can’t quite get the same look as the fashion bloggers from Pinterest or spare the time to research.

Consider What You Do on the Daily.

This is a freebie. It’s the the rule before the rules. My 9-5 has me sitting at a computer typing for a good majority of the day. I am personally not a fan of super chunky stacks to begin with because I don't like the way they look on my arm. But chunky stacks also just aren't a practical option for me because of what I do daily. What do you do day to day that might need to be considered before building your stack?

Now that you've squared that away, let’s get to it! Here are 3 steps to building the perfect stack!

1. Pick a Statement Piece

Your statement piece is your focal point. I wear my watch every day. It’s a step counter And it’s cute! I won’t leave the house without it. It’s also large and in charge. so with these two things in mind, my watch becomes my focal point. Your focal point could be an Apple Watch or a bracelet with a large decorative pendant. The main thing is that this piece is what you will build your stack around.

2. Pick a Complimentary Piece

My focal piece, a watch, is large and takes up a major surface on my wrist. So my complimentary piece needs to be small and dainty. I also use this piece to carry materials throughout my outfit. I am a pretty matchy-matchy person so I don’t like for any color or material to show up only once in my outfit. In my picture above, my earrings are gold hoops that are wrapped in pearls. I want to use pearl again somewhere in my accessories so I chose a delicate pearl and gold bracelet as my complimentary piece.

3. Add A Little Jingle or Bling Your third and final piece will be your highlight piece. A focal piece may be large But it isn’t necessarily what draws attention to your stack. A little razzle-dazzle or jingle is what is going to draw the attention. I chose to go for jingle in my stack. I don’t know who created charm bracelets but I love them for it. This chunky gold chain bracelet features a coin charm and a tiny iridescent bead for an added touch. The charm is large but it doesn’t compete with the focal piece because it hangs down rather than resting on the surface of my wrist.

Don‘t be afraid to mix your metals with this piece. A glitzy beaded bracelet would have worked just as well for my highlight piece but my complimentary piece was beaded. I wanted to add a little more interest so that is why I chose to “jingle“ with a chunky charm bracelet instead.

Like I said. I don't know that this is an art form. I am pretty positive if you just put things together that you like, then there is a good chance your outfit will turn out just as cute. But I always go back to the fact that our eyes follow lines and movement. So when an outfit is cute in your head but something is off when you put it on, it could be something as minuscule as the wrong style of earring, necklace or bracelet. I say all the time that we don't give accessories the credit they deserve. We think of them as an extra. Not needed. Something that we throw on if we have time. And while you will look great without them, they can also do so much for your outfit. So if bracelet stacks are a look you have been wanting to try but always feel too clunky or unsure how to match the different braces then this is for you! I hope this helps. Most of the bracelets on my site passed the stackable test before I ordered so you can't go wrong!
