A Highly Underrated Day Trip

It's possible this is old news to everyone. Maybe this is me starving for things to do in my little town, but I've started to show an interest in botanical gardens. I remember when my sister first said she wanted a membership to the botanical gardens back home. I don't know if I had ever been to the gardens before. I think flowers are beautiful, but I just didn't understand the purpose in going to botanical gardens. That is, until I went to Cheekwood In Nashville. Now I'm hooked. I've shared a lot of hiking and mountain type of info lately, so this one is for my girlie girls. Pull out that floral dress and your cute jewelry and hit the road!

Cheekwood needs to be your next girls day out location.

A friend of mine lives in Nashville and planned for us to meet up and go to Cheekwood. She has a membership and had been sharing pictures of each seasonal display on her Instagram. Needless to say, my interest was piqued ( that and I'm always down to see friends). I think you could go any season and be in awe of the grounds, but we went in March for the Tulip event and it was breathtaking. The photos in this article are all from the tulip event, but I wanted to go ahead and share this with you now because I know they will have an outstanding display for fall as well. October is my favorite month. if they didn't even have flowers (which they will) I think it would still be super fun just to go experience the venue/possible festivals and activities happening with your friends. Maybe I'll find some time in October to visit and be back with more tempting photos.

I could probably do an entire article on things to do in a day in Nashville after visiting Brittany over the years, but this time I just wanted to put Cheekwood on your map if it wasn't already. If you knew about it but weren't sold, then at least make plans to go in March for the tulip event. You'll be back again and again.

I appreciate the beauty of flowers, but I never understood why you'd pay money to go look at them. Now I get it. We didn't even go in the mansion, but you can. Cheekwood is a beautiful setting for a day date with your girls. It's the perfect opportunity to dress up and take some photos of the scenery or of you and your friends. Follow it up with lunch at a cute Nashville eatery ( I recommend Café Intermezzo in keeping with the girlie theme) and you've got a girls day-date made in heaven.

Happy Day-Dating With Your Girls!

XO- Monica

P.S. It should be noted that without Brittany Mountford in my life, these ideas likely would never be shared with you. She should be writing the blog. I'm merely sharing previous activities that she planned and I fully enjoyed.
